Dr. Karkalas has received recognition for her skill in cosmetic dentistry from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry as well as being a past member of the Holistic Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. She is also a current member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and is also the treasurer of the Rhode Island chapter. Dr. Karkalas also belongs to the Seattle Study Club and was also inducted into the Academy of Dentistry International.
